Free Pruning Workshop.

Do you want to learn how to prune fruit trees?

Do you have an old fruit tree -- one that came with your house or apartment or do you just want to learn how to prune an old plum tree on site?

On Sunday, April 29 10am to 12 noon, Rita Smith, who grew up on a Central Washington fruit orchard and has a passion for fruit tree pruning, will demonstrate how to renovate an elderly plum tree on Beacon Hill.  The demo/workshop will cover plum pruning basics and renovation of old fruit trees.  The class is sponsored by City Fruit, the Beacon Food Forest Steering Committee, and Rainier Valley Eats!

RSVP to glennherlihy@speakeasy.net .

This workshop is being offered for free to encourage our neighbors to gain fruit tree knowledge and skills. These skills will enable us to take better care of the mature trees we have in the neighborhood, encourage higher yields and help them to live longer healthier lives.

Thank you.
